Finally Got Internet
Sorry this is a late posting, but I didn't have any wifi yet . On Monday it was all traveling I didn't arrive at Pimampiro until 2 am. Part of the reason was because in Miami the airplane was three hours delayed due to some issue that was never really explained. The 1st day was a late morning when we went to the market and got all the materials for making breakfast as well as just having some food in the apartment. Sue's phone wasn't working so we we looking for a store that could help solve her problems when we stopped by this cute restaurant where we sat on stools and sat by a counter. Instead of making breakfast at home we decided to eat there. We had 2 hard boiled eggs (even though we ordered scrambled) with this fruit juice, and a banana from the market. It was delicious! The bananas here are much denser and have more flavor. The food is also so much cheaper here for that meal ( not including the banana) was 2.50. We then went to a bakery where sue got croissants. We then made a few more stops at supermarkets. After that we walked back home to unpack all the food. Sue then made on the croissants tuna with celery, raw spinach, tomato sandwich. When we were walking in streets everyone was being friendly. The ecuadorians are very welcoming and will hug and kiss you the first time that you meet them. Then we went to the school to do some organizing we took innovatory of the all the material there and that was brought. The school itself has 7 teachers and the students have a fine craft for learning how to tailor. There was a lot of embroidery thread that need to be order by color and counted so we basically did that for a few hours. We then went to the park to get some wifi so I could tell my parents I had arrived safely. In the park there were children playing with a soccer ball. After that the chicken soup that Sue made was ready and we ate it for dinner. Then we hung out and went to sleep. Today I got up took a shower and then we were off to smaller village down the hill where Sue wanted to dropped some things off to here friends. The ecuadorians love peeps! We first went to the headquarters of vibrant villages which was really beautiful they had this biodiverse garden. Then we walked to her friends Carma who is an older women. She took around her whole farm we saw all this interesting fruit and vegetables. After hanging out there for awhile we went the the mountains of hope food pantry. This is where elderly come and have food to take home or eat there because they don't have much access to it as well as they can't afford it. Sue handed out the peeps they went crazy for it . We ate there are well. We had quinoa soup with potatoes and popcorn (it's something they like to do with their soups), then rice, beans, bananas, tomato and a small salad. It was all very good. There I got to meant Andres who is a physical therapist who helps with the elderly and is paid by the government. Now we took a bus back to Pimampiro and we are gonna go to back to the school and help out but planning what art projects we will do.
